Friday Night Drinks Report # 44

Thanks to all who showed up for the Friday Night Drinks Christmas party last Friday at the Pri Vitezu restaurant in Ljubljana. We had a really fantastic evening with a great international crowd as usual and a superb selection of food to add some holiday cheer (we hope everyone had a chance to enjoy it)! We'll like to thank our friends at Ernst & Young as well as Gerry for sponsoring all the wonderful food on Friday.

Special thanks also to our new friends at the SOSED group, who gave away a couple of nice computer support packages worth 80 eur. (congrats to winners Alexandra Waldman and Maja Bole!).

Friday Night Drinks Christmas party!

Attention FNDers!

December is here, and so is the Friday Night Drinks Christmas party! This month's event will start at 8:30pm this Friday, 11 December at the Pri Vitezu restaurant, located Breg 20 (along the river in Ljubljana's old town).

We'll have a fine selection of free buffet food sponsored by our good friends at Ernst & Young. So be sure to arrive early!

We'll also be giving away a few other nice surprises, including a couple of computer support packages worth 80 eur. each from the SOSED group.

So join us this coming Friday, 11 December, for a fun-filled evening of food, friends, and holiday cheer. And as usual, feel welcome to bring along a friend or two!

Friday Night Drinks Report # 43

Thanks to all who turned up for Friday Night Drinks at the Bon Appetit French restaurant in Ljubljana last Friday. We enjoyed a very nice turnout that included a sizable number of first-time FNDers from various countries including Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Spain, the US, the UK, Brazil, and Venezuela.

As with our event at Bon Appetit last year, we were very pleased with the way the venue worked out this month. Many thanks to the owner Serge for offering us all a free glass of wine for the occasion of the Beaujolais Nouveau festival.

Friday Night Drinks at Bon Appetit

Attention FNDers!

This month's Friday Night Drinks will be taking place at 8pm this Friday, 20 November, at the Bon Appetit French restaurant in Ljubljana (Miklosiceva 28, next to the Kinoteka).

Come and join us for a free glass of French wine to help celebrate the Beaujolais Nouveau festival of new wine! Last year's FND event at Bon Appetit was hugely popular, so be sure to mark the date on your calendar and pass the word along to any friends who might wish to join the fun!

There will also be a reporter and photographer from the newspaper Dnevnik on hand looking to interview a few selected expats, so be sure and join us to help show them what FND is all about!

Friday Night Drinks Report # 42

FND Report # 42 ... our largest event ever!!

A very big thanks to all who turned up for last week's Friday Night Drinks at the Bachus Center in Ljubljana last Friday. We had a record-breaking turnout and a fine performance by the ICS Band! The venue worked out quite well and was just the right size for the evening, at least until the band stopped playing and the regular 'clubbers' came pouring in! Gerry has posted a Video of one of the evening's songs on Facebook for anyone who is interested to have a look.

We'd like to thank Dirk, Astrid, Donna and all the members of the band for putting on a great show for us, and we especially wish Dirk and Astrid all the best at their new locations.
Our new photographer, Ian Middleton, has posted some fantastic photos of the evening online (you can also find older FND photos on the FND Flicker site). Ian offers a new photography service in which people are portrayed in a more natural environment, rather than in the confines of a studio, and is available for all manner of portrait work and special events. FND this Friday at Bachus!

We are happy to confirm our second Friday Night Drinks event for this month! We will be meeting this Friday, 23 October, at the Bachus Center in Ljubljana (Kongresni trg 3).

We'll have some free snacks for everyone, plus a live performance by the ICS band. A couple of our fellow FND friends will be leaving town soon, so this will be a great way to give them a happy sendoff and wish them well at their new destinations.

Thanks to all who turned up for Friday Night Drinks at the Hotel Slon Cafe in Ljubljana last Friday. We had a good turnout and a very enjoyable evening for our first event of the season, with a number of friendly new faces joining us. Friday Night Drinks Tonight at Slon Cafe

You may have noticed that we are starting the Friday Night Drinks season a bit late this year, so let's not waste any time! FND is now back to business as usual, starting with an impromptu event tonight at the Hotel Slon. We'll be meeting at the corner cafe of the Slon starting at 8pm - the entrance is directly adjacent to the city's main post office on Slovenska cesta.

We are also working on organizing a second event this month on the 23rd, which will include a live performance by the ICS band. We have a few fellow FNDers who will be leaving town very soon, so this would be a nice way to give them a big sendoff and wish them well at their new destinations.
