Friday Night Drinks Report # 54

Thanks to all who turned up last week for Friday Night Drinks at Hugo Barrera. We had a very interesting crowd this month and another lively performance by the Blow-up band.

Our usual FND photographer, Ian Middleton, wasn't able to make it last Friday (he just became a father!), but we were fortunate to have another FNDer with camera. A big thanks to Miroslava Andric for taking some great photos, which you can see on our facebook page. You can find more samples of her work here.

PS: If anyone is interested, the Blow-up Band will be performing again tomorrow evening at Sputnik. We had an excellent FND at Sputnik last year (the dance floor was really a big hit!). Also, our friends the Smokin' Aliens will be back performing on March 25th. More info will follow!

Friday Night Drinks this Week at Hugo Barrera

February's Friday Night Drinks will be taking place this coming Friday, Feb 11 at the Hugo Barrera club -- located in the center of town just beside Preseren square and the main marketplace. We'll be starting as usual at about 8:30pm - if you are new to FND please look for us downstairs by the bar. This time we'll have another performance by Ernie and the gang from the Blow up band. We'll also try to arrange some free snacks for everyone (or maybe free B52s like last time? ;-), and keep in mind that if you'd like to chat and meet some new friends, please try to arrive early before the band starts cranking out their tunes at 9:30 or 10pm... after that, we'll be rockin' the nite away :-)

Friday Night Drinks & the SMOKIN' ALIENS!

This month's Friday Night Drinks will be starting at 8:30pm tonight at the Dvorni Bar, located on Dvorni trg in Ljubljana's old town.

We'll have a special live performance by a new band called the SMOKIN' ALIENS, started by some of our fellow FNDers. They promise that we'll be rockin' the nite away, so come on out, join the party & invite all your friends!

Friday Night Drinks 2010 Holiday Party!

December is upon us, and with the early arrival of winter this year the holiday season is in full gear... so get ready for the annual Friday Night Drinks holiday party this coming Friday, December 10th. We'll be meeting at the Gostilna Lovec starting at 8:30pm (located at Trg Mladinskih Delovnih Brigad 1, on the corner of Presernova & Rimska cesta, just down the street from Cankarjev dom & the Presidential building). The restaurant has promised us a nice selection of free buffet food, compliments of the house, which will include an assortment from their new Macedonian themed menu.

We are expecting to have another great turnout this month, so be sure to join us for a lively evening of good friends, food and fun (and maybe even some Christmas caroling!). FND Holiday Party + November Photos

The FND holiday party is coming up on Dec. 10th, starting at 8:30pm at the Gostilna Lovec, located at Trg MDB 1 in Ljubljana. We'll have some free food and plenty of good holiday cheer waiting for you, so be sure to mark the date on your calendar. More details will be announced by email and on the FND Facebook page.

Apologies for not posting a follow-up report for the November FND. We had a fantastic evening at the Dvorni bar with a near record turnout, including a good number of first-time FNDers. Here is a link to some photos of the event in case you missed it.

FND this Friday at the Dvorni Bar

The next Friday Night Drinks will be happening this coming Friday, November 12th, starting at 8:30pm. We'll be meeting again at one of our usual stomping grounds, the Dvorni Bar, located on Dvorni trg in Ljubljana's old town. The colder weather is now here and the winter season is near, but rain or shine you are welcome to join us for drinks and good ol' FND cheer at our penultimate event of the year :-)

More details may follow later in the week... we hope to have some free drinks or snacks for everyone as usual. Be sure to mark the letters FND on your calendar, and remember to spread the word by inviting along a friend or two!

Friday Night Drinks Report # 51

Thanks to all who turned up for Friday Night Drinks at Sputnik last Friday. We enjoyed a very good turnout, despite the off-center location, and witnessed another excellent performance by the Blow-Up band. Everyone seemed to agree that Sputnik was the perfect venue for an event like FND, so we'll definitely be returning back again in the coming months. The place had an excellent dance floor, which really started rockin' after midnight!

Friday Night Drinks this Friday at SPUTNIK

The next Friday Night Drinks will be starting this coming Friday, October 8th at 8:30pm at the Sputnik Café in Vic (Tržaška cesta 128, located just behind the petrol station by the LJ ring road). Although it's a bit farther from the center compared to most of our FND events, Sputnik is a fantastic venue and we think everyone will really enjoy it. The Blow Up band will be on stage once again performing another great selection of tunes for us, so it should be another fun and lively evening as always.
