Friday Night Drinks 2010 Holiday Party!

December is upon us, and with the early arrival of winter this year the holiday season is in full gear... so get ready for the annual Friday Night Drinks holiday party this coming Friday, December 10th. We'll be meeting at the Gostilna Lovec starting at 8:30pm (located at Trg Mladinskih Delovnih Brigad 1, on the corner of Presernova & Rimska cesta, just down the street from Cankarjev dom & the Presidential building). The restaurant has promised us a nice selection of free buffet food, compliments of the house, which will include an assortment from their new Macedonian themed menu.

We are expecting to have another great turnout this month, so be sure to join us for a lively evening of good friends, food and fun (and maybe even some Christmas caroling!). FND Holiday Party + November Photos

The FND holiday party is coming up on Dec. 10th, starting at 8:30pm at the Gostilna Lovec, located at Trg MDB 1 in Ljubljana. We'll have some free food and plenty of good holiday cheer waiting for you, so be sure to mark the date on your calendar. More details will be announced by email and on the FND Facebook page.

Apologies for not posting a follow-up report for the November FND. We had a fantastic evening at the Dvorni bar with a near record turnout, including a good number of first-time FNDers. Here is a link to some photos of the event in case you missed it.

FND this Friday at the Dvorni Bar

The next Friday Night Drinks will be happening this coming Friday, November 12th, starting at 8:30pm. We'll be meeting again at one of our usual stomping grounds, the Dvorni Bar, located on Dvorni trg in Ljubljana's old town. The colder weather is now here and the winter season is near, but rain or shine you are welcome to join us for drinks and good ol' FND cheer at our penultimate event of the year :-)

Friday Night Drinks Report # 51

Thanks to all who turned up for Friday Night Drinks at Sputnik last Friday. We enjoyed a very good turnout, despite the off-center location, and witnessed another excellent performance by the Blow-Up band. Everyone seemed to agree that Sputnik was the perfect venue for an event like FND, so we'll definitely be returning back again in the coming months. The place had an excellent dance floor, which really started rockin' after midnight!

Friday Night Drinks this Friday at SPUTNIK

The next Friday Night Drinks will be starting this coming Friday, October 8th at 8:30pm at the Sputnik Café in Vic (Tržaška cesta 128, located just behind the petrol station by the LJ ring road). Although it's a bit farther from the center compared to most of our FND events, Sputnik is a fantastic venue and we think everyone will really enjoy it. The Blow Up band will be on stage once again performing another great selection of tunes for us, so it should be another fun and lively evening as always.

Friday Night Drinks Report # 50

Thanks to all who turned up for Friday Night Drinks at Hugo Barrera's last weekend. We had a very fun and lively evening with a great turnout, and another fine performance by the Blow-Up band. Thanks to Hugo's for providing everyone with free welcome drinks and snacks... we have to say the B52s were definitely a hit! :-)

We'd also like to thank our friends at the Nativo Language School for sponsoring the very first FND Slovene lesson on Friday. It turned out to be loads of fun so we hope to do this kind of activity more often! For anyone interested Nativo also offers a free introductory lesson at their school as well, so contact them directly if you are interested.

Friday Night Drinks returns this Friday at Hugo Barrera!

The new season of Friday Night Drinks will be starting this Friday, 17 September at the Hugo Barrera club (Adamič Lundrovo nabrežje 5), located by the funky new bridge at Ljubljana's central marketplace. The event will be starting at 8:30pm, with a live performance by the Blow-Up band soon to follow sometime after 9pm. Our previous event at Hugo Barrera's was quite popular, be sure to make a note on your calendar, and as usual, feel welcome to invite a friend or two!

Everyone interested is also welcome to join us an hour early at 7:30pm for a free FND Slovene lesson (and possibly a free drink as well), compliments of the Nativo Language School. Nativo offers a variety of Slovene language courses geared towards members of the international community living in Ljubljana. If you can't make it for the free lesson this Friday, they also offer a free introductory lesson at their school as well -- but please do join us on Friday if possible, it should be quite fun!

Friday Night Drinks Tonight at Kavarna SEM

This month's Friday Night Drinks will be happening Tonight, 18 June starting at 8:30pm. We'll be meeting at the Kavarna SEM (near Metelkova) for our final FND event before the summer break. Look for us just outside by the entrance to the cafe, which is located in the same building as the Slovene Ethnographic Museum. So take a break from the World Cup (or come and join us to celebrate your team's victory!) and kick back with some refreshing drinks and FND fun. There will also be Salsa dancing inside the cafe, so if you're in the mood bring along your dancing shoes!
