Friday Night Drinks at Opera Bar
Attention
FNDers... the days are getting colder and the nights longer, in other
words it's the perfect season for FND! Our November event will be
happening this Friday, the 23rd starting at 8:30pm at the Opera Bar, located at Cankarjeva 12 in Ljubljana. It's the week of
Thanksgiving and young wine... so come out and join us for a fun-filled
evening and meet some good friends, new and old alike. We'll have free welcome drinks for
early arrivals, so pass the word to anyone who'd like to join us!

FND + Blow Up + The Beatles this Friday at Sputnik!
Friday Night Drinks will be taking place this coming Friday, October 19th at
the wonderful Sputnik Café (located at Tržaška cesta 128, close to the LJ
ring road). FND members will have free entrance... the evening will
feature an opening (and closing) from the Blow Up band with a special
performance from Help! - A Beatles Tribute! FND will be starting
up at 9pm and
the show will begin at around 9:30pm. If you missed your chance to see
the popular Beatles Tribute concert this summer, this is a second (and
free!) chance to your favorites oldies, FND style!
So be sure to mark the letters FND on your calendar, and help to spread the word by passing along this invitation to any friends who may be interested!

PS: If you have any trouble finding Sputnik, it's located just behind the petrol station (the last one before the ring road). From there you can drive around the block and park near the railroad tracks.
PPS: If they ask for any proof of FND membership at the door, just flash your FND VIP card, or be prepared to answer a challenging question (such as "what do the letters FND spell?", or "who is the head honcho of FND?", etc.:-)

Friday Night Drinks Report #59
Thanks to all who turned up for Friday Night Drinks at the Hotel Cubo last Friday. We had truly delightful, indeed first-class service this time.. quite a contrast from the previous event in June! The hotel staff went out of their way to cater to us, with free welcome drinks (Movia wine) and some truly delicious food, all served with a smile. We would definitely recommend the Hotel Cubo, located steps away from Kongresni trg, as an excellent choice for entertaining your out-of-town guests.
Many thank to our new member Joan Pion Daigneault for helping to organize the event, as well as to our photographer Ian Middleton for taking some excellent photos.

FND this Friday at Hotel Cubo
Attention FNDers!
Get ready for a new season of FND... we'll be back in business this week, Friday, 7 Sept. at the Hotel Cubo. The Hotel Cubo is a wonderful spot to meet, right across from the Drama House on Slovenska cesta (we'll meet nearby the main entrance). We'll have some free welcome drinks and snacks for all FNDers (many thanks to our new member Joan from MSD for helping to organize the event)!
As usual, everyone is welcome, and this time we guarantee a more welcoming atmosphere where we won't need to fight for tables! So mark the date on your calendar, pass the word along to any friends and colleagues who might like to join in the fun... and get set for a lively new season of FND!

Friday Night Drinks at the Camino Bar
This
month's Friday Night Drinks will be taking place at the Camino Bar, a
new venue located right next door to the Stara Macka pub in the old town
(along the bank on the Ljubljanica). We have reserved some outdoor and
indoor tables and also arranged for free welcome drinks
for FNDers, so be sure to mark your calendars, invite your friends and
get ready for some serious FND fun to kick-start the summer!

Friday Night Drinks this Friday at 2 Locations!
Happy May 1st to all FNDers near and far!
This Friday is also Gerry's 20th anniversary of arriving in Slovenia, so yet one more reason to celebrate! :-)
We'll be having a special event this Friday, May 4th, at 2 locations, so listen carefully... For those interested, the evening will begin at 8:30pm at a small wine shop at Stefanova 9 (about a block or two away from the Neboticnik/"skyscraper" in the direction towards Tivoli). The shop is fairly small and has no real name other than Prodaja Italijanskih vin "Sale of Italian Wines". They are generously offering all FNDers free glasses of young wine along with free snacks as well, and bottles can of course be purchased to drink and share.
Sometime around 9:30 or 10pm, we will take a short walk over to one of our favorite hangouts, the Opera Bar to continue the evening with our friends in the Blow Up band, who will be returning for an encore of their amazing performance in February. The weather will certainly be much warmer this week, so if you missed it then, there's really no excuse this time! The Opera Bar is located only a short walk away from the wine shop on the next parallel street (Cankarjeva cesta - kitty-corner from the Opera House). If you are new to FND look for us inside by the bar.
Remember to mark the date on your calendar, and feel welcome to invite friends or colleagues to join us as well... as usual the more FNDers the merrier!

Attention FNDers!
Apologies for the late notice, but the next Friday Night Drinks will be taking place this coming Friday, March 30th at 9:00pm at the wonderful Sputnik Café (located at Tržaška cesta 128 close to the LJ ring road). It's a bit farther from the center compared to most of our events, but Sputnik is a fantastic venue. The Blow Up band will be on stage again performing a great selection of tunes for us starting at 10:30pm, and we expect to suffer through some karaoke at some point as well! All in all it should be a very fun evening!
Be sure to mark the letters FND on your calendar, and remember to spread the word by passing along the invitation to a friend or two!

Friday Night Drinks Report # 56
Thanks to all who turned up for FND last Friday at the Opera Bar! We had a wonderful turnout last Friday (despite the freezing weather) and a rockin' good evening thanks in part to our friends in the Blow Up band. Ernie and his pals, along with special guest Robert McKenzie, fired up another fantastic performance...you can catch a video of one of their songs on our Facebook page, as well as some nice photos of the evening on our photographer's website.
